At a meeting of the Anglican Synod to-day tho following motion, proposed by Dean Fitchott, was carried : —“ That tills Synod welcomes the decision of flic General Synod to recommend the adoption of the New South M ales system of religious instruction in State schools,, and invites the 00-operalion ol other religious hollies in urging upon the Legislatiuro that the question he submitted to the people of New Zealand by referendum, alter the example recently set by Queensland.” The following members were appqi ntod to confer with representatives of other religious bodies as opportunity arises:—The Primate (Bishop Ncvill), Dean Fitctiett, Archdeacon Gould, Archdeacon Neild ; Canon Curzon Siggera, Messrs Braithwaite, Talboys, Washer anil Williams. A Bill providing that ministers should receive a minimum stipend of £250 with house, or £-100 without house was passed.
