A romantic story was disclosed at the hearing of a charge against a seventeen-year-old girl of being a disorderly person for having dressed in boy's clothes. A fortnight ago the girl joined a boys' institute, participated in games, and sought to secure employment on a farm. Discovery of her sex was made a couple of days ago. The girl stated that she had run away from her home in Canada. She declined to give details, adding that she had committed no crime. She gave as her reason for dressing in boys' clothes that a single girl could not travel without disg\iise. She declared that she would never wear women's clothes again. She appeared in Court in boy's dress. The Bench dismissed the case.
