The Frozen Meat Trades Association's Smithfield Market quotations for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of not less than 100 carcases of mutton or lamb and 25 carcases of beef of fair average quality. These quotations are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of the shipments now on the market:—

There is an active demand for best quality; choicest New Zealand to-day is 109 s, Australian 103 s, Danish 116 s, Biberian 102 s. Cheese.-—The market is steady, but •he demand is only moderate, especi»Hy for coloured, at 555; white, 57*. Hemp.—The market is dull, and very little business is doing. Prices are—Oil apot, New Zealand good fair £24. 10s, New Zealand fair £23: fair current Manila. £22 10s. Forward shipment, New Zealand good fair £24 10a, fair £22 10s; fair current Manila, £22. Tho output of Manila for the week was 25,000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp is 250 tons. Kauri Urum. —The market is rather quiet; ordinary to fair three-quarter scraped, 160 s; fair half-scraped, 100 s; brown fair, half to three-quarter scraped, 87s 6d; brown pickings, common to good, 455; bush, fair to good, J ale and amber scraped, 160 s. Stock—--21 tons.
