If wc follow the excellent examples of our predecessors, Mrs Black, Mrs Dunkley and Mrs Wells, in attention to duty and loyalty to responsibility we shall not, I trust disappoint the public., I do 1 not know why the good Mayor hints that the new members may “ imagine they know all about the Hospital, which had taken thirty years to get into an efficient condition,” or why these members should bring forward “proposals that might lessen efficiency and iead to great expense.” It is hardly fair to handicap us with such gloomy suggestions.
