THE SUICIDE OF MR ARMYTAGE.
INQUEST AT MELBOURNE.

MELBOURNE, March 17
At the inquest in regard to the death of Mr Bertram Armytago, tho Coroner perused a letter 1 left by deceased addressed to the secretary of the Melbourne Club. It referred to the writer’s disappointment at not receiving an appointment in the War Office which he was anxious to secure. The rest of the letter referred to the disposal of his effects. It showed that he contemplated suicide. The Coroner remarked that Mr Armytage was in the prime of life and had everything ho could desire, youth, wealth and health, but there was just one thing he wanted and could not get, and it drovo him to selfmurder. A verdict of suicide was returned, with a statement that there was nothing to show the state of mind of deceased at the time.
