The Canadian contract with the Now Zealand Shipping Company provides for monthly sailings from Montreal in' tho summer, and from St John in the winter, the vessels calling at Halifax. The subsidy is £2OOO a month, and it is stipulated that the rates aro not to exceed thoso from similar ports in the United States.
