SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

At a meeting of the Hornby School Committee, Mr Kinross presiding, the master reported that the roll number was 162 and tho average attendance 148. It was decided to grant fire weeks' holiday and to hold the picnic at Sheffield on December 23. Messrs Kinross, Watson, Bowbyes and Manhire were appointed to purchase books for prizes. A number of prizes were offered by members of the committee for senior races. Messrs Watson, Powell t Kinross and Bowbyes were appointed % snorts committee, and Messrs Price* Hardaker and Manhire a provision committee.
