PLUMPTON PARK TROTTING CLUB. The annual Meeting of the Plumpton Part Trotting Cub was held yesterday. In the absence of the president (.Mr A- v. Myers) and the vice-president (Mr U »< .Howell), both of whom forwarded apologies, Air F. Beverley occupied the chair. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts for the year, inclusive of a balance of £l3tt) 15s 2d from tho previous year, amounted to irjSGl 18s 8d totalizator providing £3311 ISs, bookmakers''ices £1219 10s, nominations and acceptances £1442 17s Gd, gates £993 los, cards I £355 10s. privileges £270, rent. £6l 3s, and members' subscriptions £l3 10s. On the exnenditure side, slakes accounted for £3940, Government tax £530 0s 3d, and ground improvements £356 Us 7d, the year closing with a, credit balance of £3400 4s. Tha assets, including a cash balance of £33G3 4s course. £-000, buildings, improvements and other property £3510, totalled £7179 4s, and the liabilities were £SOO. ' Tho committee's report stated that me *enson had been a record one, tho receipts having been far in advance of any previous year. Tho club's programmes had been well received, the fields had been large, and the racing of a high order. Tho attendances had increased very much during tho last year, ancl as the accommodation had proved insufficient, tenders had been accepted for a new stand, and other improvements woiud also be provided later. Tho chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, referred to the comments which had been made, at various ■ times to the conduct of bookmakers. Mr C. S. Howell, who has for many years been closely identified with trotting" affairs in Chrisichureh, nr:d who was yesterday elected president of the Plumpton Park Trottine; Club, is at present confined to his limine with an attack of pneumonia. Golden Way was scratched for the New Zealand Cup at 4.M p.m. yestcrdav. Contorp, by Conqueror—Kokinkiri, who was taken to Australia last year by Mr G. P. Payno, won a hurdle race at Moorcfirfd, Sydney, on Juno 20. By his victory in the Gisborlio Park Steeplechase yesterday, Te Arni lias inenred a 7lb penalty for the Grand National Stecpleohase, bringing his weight up to lOst Gib. Lin-acre, who cost 2000 "ruineas- in England, carried lOst 01b and finished eocotkl in a six-furlong race at Moorcfie.ld. Sydney, on Jura; 2G. The winner, Daisy Chain, also an English importation, was weighted at 6st 12ib.
