UNITED STATES WHEAT EXPORT.
The Argentine Vice-'Uonsul at Wash* ington has sent to the .Minister of Argentine Foreign Affains a report in which he deals with the oxport of wheat and maize from the Unified States during 1908. He states that the Unified States exported last year, In roitnd figures. 92,000.000 bushels, a tota\l far below that of the exports of the same grain from Argentina which, according to cabled advices from Buenos Ayres, reached 140,000,000 bushels '.'luring the same period. * Still greater, he points ovfij;, is the difference between the exports of maize from the United States in 1)008 and those from Argentina. The United States exported 37,000,000 fimshels,' while Argentine exports of that'cereal .pere nearly double that quantify. 1 \ In his report, he points out that the e:\ports of maize from the United States are diminishing yearly—sibce m 19(30 they reached 100,000,000 bushels—and? this in spite of the fact that the pro 4 uction of maize in the States reaches the enormous total of bushels yearly. , ' Tint' United States does not export, either* barley or linseed, and last year, exporAsd .13,000,000 barrels of flour as agaiusfJ 15,000,000 in 190 i.
