Tlio Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company's cable message states that stocks of frozen meat are very heavy, and the demand poor, with a further fall in values for North Island mutton and second quality lamb. A cablo message from the High Commissioner, dated May 5, says that the wool sales commenced with a strong market, and a large attendance of buyers, the Americans competing keenly for cross-breds. Merinoos and coarse cross-breds of all grades were id higher, and fine cross-breds of all grades and medium orotte-breds of all grades Id higher than last sale. Prospects are favourable.

The following is a copy of a cablegram received by Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, Cliristchurch, from their London Office, dated May s:—"Since our last telegram, prices of low and inferior descriptions of tallow are 6d to 9d lower, and other descriptions 6d lower."
