Special tram cars will leave Cathedral Square to-day at intervals of fifteen minute. 3 from 11.5 a.m. till 1 p.m., for the Christchurch Racing Club's meeting at Plumpton. The anniversary of the Richmond Methodist Church will be celebrated tomorrow, the Revs C. H. Garland and C. H. Laws will preach. In the afternoon, commencing at 2.30, the Selwyn Street South Methodist Church choir will give the sacred cantata “ Esther, the Beautiful Queen.” The Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Winter show will bo held on June 1,2, 3, and 4. Entries will close on May 18. A special meeting of the Imperial Ride Corps will be held on Tuesday, after parade for the. election of officers. A public meeting of poultry farmers will bo held on Monday at 7.45 p.m. at the Canterbury Co-operative Egg, Poultry and Produce Company’s offices, to protest against the Government’s proposal to close the experimental poultry farm at Burnham. An Assessment Court for the Waipara and Ashley Hoad districts will sit at Rangiorii at 10.30 a.m. on May 18.
