T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN,—I . have U pleasure in again offering my services to you as one of your Representatives on the Christchurch City Council. My past record, I think, should justify me in once more asking for your support. When first elected I took a prominent part in a successful movement for tho erection of an up-to-date destructor, and there can be 1 little doubt that its introduction was a great benefit to the City. I also successfully advocated the erection of a public morgue, which, was sorely wanted, as our unfortunate dead ?ere dumped down in outhouses connected pith hotels in a most improper way, and inquests and post morterms were held under most trying conditions. For a number of years I acted as Chairman of the .ueserve Committee ar.d instituted a system of tree 1 planting which in years to come should give splendid results. A reference to the Council records will also show that in October, 1901, I carried a resolution in favour of a section being set apart for a tepid Bwimmmg bath. During Mr AVigram's term as Mavor I was the moans of getting the first oommitteo a> pointed to further the movement in favour of Greater Christchurch. Tho same' records will show that I have consistently advocated a municipal stone quarry, and I can fairly, claim to have assisted all practical progressive proposals during my term of office. Tlio Canal Scheme and tho Electrical Power and Light Schemes are questions which have. I think, hardly reached the stage when, they can be said to be within the range of practical local politics. When it can be proved tint the proposals are sound from a commercial standpoint I will heartily support them. I: addition to having served on almost all lh_ Departmental Committees of the Council I am at present 'their- representative on the Hospital Board. Trusting to receivo a share of your support on Wednesday, I have tho honour to bo your obediont servant, „ ~„„„„ 5873 C. D. MOEHIS. FURNISHED HOUSE, Central. Also, COTTAGE G rooms, 10s.
