COLLISION IN DOCK. [Per Pbess Association.!, AUCKLAND, April 23. . The steamer Lauderdale, when being towed out of dock by the Harbour Board's tug, collided with the wharf and damaged her rudder and propeller. She will be redocked to-day. It is estimated that the repairs will cost about £IOO. Her departure for Greymouth has been delaj-ed for a week.

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 23. ■ The crew of the-tugboat Stella, which capsized on the Horahoro_ bar, were three-quarters of an hour in the surf. They had a terrible struggle to reach the shore. The captain and mate were almost gone, but managed to land. An ordinary seaman named W. Campbell was drowned.

A HARBOUR COLLISION. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 23. A high gale prevailed last night and to-day, accompanied until this afternoon' by heavy rain. Last night, at about 10.30, the small coastal steamer Gertie, of about 250 tons, arrived from Foxton and was endeavouring to come alongside a berth at Waterloo Quay. The wind was sweeping with terrific force from tho direction of Pipitoa Point and over tho harbour. _ The Gertie had got between the railway and Glasgow wharves, and at fifty yards from tho quay, and was just about parallel with it. Some furious gusts then slewed her bows outwards, and in swinging round she struck the Rakaia, which is moored on the inner side of the Glasgow N wharf. One of j the Bakaia's plates on the port side, : about eight feet from the water-line, was stove in, whilo a piece of the Gertie's port anchor was broken off., To-day Messrs Cable and Co. were en.- I
