FOOTBALL

A meeting of the Canterbury Football Association was held in the Young Men's Christian Association's rooms on Wednesday, when a large number of members were present. Ramsay; houorarv secretary, Mr C. E. Brown ; committee, Messrs W. P. Barnett (chairman), W. D. Ranway (vice-chairman), Corns, Dowker, W. Ward and Elmos and the secretary. It was decided that there should be both a League Tournament and a Shield Competition, the following clubs having entered :—Christ-

church, Sydenham, St Albans, Burnham and Youug Men's Christian Association.

An Association football match will be played to-day at the South Park between the Christchurch ClUb, winners of the Canterbury Association's shield last season, and a team selected by Mr W. Ward from the rest of the Association's olubs.

A match between the Winchmore and Ashburton Football clubs was played at Ashburton on Thursday, the -visitors winning by 15 points to 3.
