A BAND OP MURDERERS. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. . SYDNEY, April 22. A series of crimes has been brought to light in Noumea by the trial of a number of persons for the murder of three men in the nickel district. Pouembont and Koue, two of tho victims, were shot while their grass huts were on fire, and the third was shot in tho road. The object was to get possession of their money. One of tho leadens, who was the chief assassin of the band, was an Arab named Zermani. He was shot dead by a gendarme. Arrighi, a Corsican, was sentenced to death, Santa Croce, who planned tho crimes, and Grimaqui were sentenced to twenty years’ imprisonment and ten years’ imprisonment respectively, and a woman named Poisin to five years’ imprisonment.
