CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday, April 22. (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) Drunkenness.— One first offender for drunkenness was convicted and ordered to pay 10s Gd medical expenses, m de fault seven days’ imprisonment. Broken Prohibition Order. James M’Kay did not appear in answer to a charge of having procured liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, and was fined 20s and costs. Judgment by Default.— ln each ot the following cases judgment with costs was entered for tho plaintiffs by default:—Mtinro and Hickonbottom v. William Scott, £2 5s 5 Langdowu and Sons, Limited, v.. G. Armstrong, costs only; New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association (Mr Helmore) v. RGray, £9 9s; r C. Pannell and Co. (Mr Goodman) v. J. B. Stephenson, £5 7s 6d Judgment Summons Cases.— J. Phillips (Mr Rowe) asked for an order against J. Cox for £7 10s lid. Tho debtor said that he was a wharf labourer. He was a, married man with_five children, one of whom earned 5s a week. He paid 7s 6d a week rent, and his earnings wero from 35s to 40s a week. He was ordered to pay is a week, hut no alternative was made.— Edyth Cox Roper (Mir Dougall) applied for an order against Ernest Wilmot Burlett for £l4 11s. The debtor said that he was a draper receiving £3 5s a week. He was married and wais paying off other debts. He was ordered to pay 7s 6d a week. Dissolved Pabtnerptiiu. —E. H. Hewish (Mr Rowe) claimed £l2 10s from A. Col man and James Weston, trading as Coiman and Weston, for rent. Coiman did not appear, and Weston defended the action on an agroement dissolving the partnership with Coiman. The Magistrate said that Weston could sue Coiman on the agreement, but Hewish was no party to it. Judgment was given against 'Weston with costs.
