United Pra«s Association—By Elcctrio Telegraph—Copyright. . LONDON, April 20. lan Hague knocked out Gunner Moir at the National Sporting Club in the first round. NEW ‘ZEALAND COUNCIL. The New Zealand Boxing Council met last evening; present—Messrs J. E. Evans (chairman), F. W. Johnston, 0. J. Cooper, J. R. Olliver, J. F. Griorson, C. T. Aschman and W. G. Atack (honorary secretary.) A letter was received front the Christchurch Sports’ Club stating that it had been decided to disqualify Albert Walker for life. It was decided to endorse tho disqualification and also tho disqualification for life of J. Leckie, of Timaru. A letter was received from tho Wellington Boxing Association stating that tho committee of tho association opposed tho proposal to abolish centre government. The interests of boxing in tho North Island would not be served by tho abolition. It was decided to ask the various associations for an expression of opinion on the question. Permission was granted to the Christchurch Sports’ Club to hold a match for £3O a side between E. J. Pictou, of Christchurch, and J. Maloney, of Dunedin, on Juno 30. Mr W. F. Corbett wrote stating that T. Burns was anxious to tour New Zealand giving exhibitions of boxing, ballpunching and sparring. It was decided to extend the council’s patronago to the tour providing satisfactory arrangements were made.
