PIGEON-FLYING.

The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew oil its annual Juvenile Stakes Race from St Andrew's on Saturday, forty-seven birds, representing sixteen owners, competing. Only birds wearing 190 S ring were eligible to compete. The birds were liberated at 11.15 a.m., in dull weather, with a nor’-west wind blowing. The winner was Mr E. Taylor’s Belle, which flew the distance of 100 miles 276 yards in 3hr 38min. The following is the result: E. Taylor’s Belle, 812yds per minute; E. Fuchs’s Renown, 703yds; E. Rowe’s LadyDisdain, 793yds; J. M’Gorman’s Tiresome, 791yds; T. Newton’s Midget, 787yds; R, ,u.arcourt’s Flitaway, 776yds; J. Porter’s Pacer, 752yds; A. Farrell's Silver Queen. 750vds; F. Chambers's Bartlett, 743yds; F. Kingsford’s Little Wonder, 741yd3; J. Sealcs’s Red| Bird, 650yds; H. Robinson’s Sea Rover, 629yds; L. Walton’s Tea Time, 508yds.
