The Maori is due this morning on the ferry service from Wellington, and the Moeraki, from Melbourne, via southern ports, is also due to-day. The Kittawa is expected to leave for the West Coast to-day. I' The lonic is to sail for Timaru early this , morning. She will return on Monday to ' load, and will leave again for' Wellington; her ' j final port, on Thursday. ' She will leave / : New Zealand on February 25. f ' The A. and A. liner Aberlour arrived from | Wellington yesterday morning with about 400 tons of cargo to discharge. Work was hur- ' lied along, and she was able to put her thatches on again and sail for Dunedin last •night. ; The dredge Mawheia was put into dock yesterday for cleaning and fitting up. She will probably be ready for the water again on Monday. , The steamer Defender is expected an •Sunday from Wanganui with a load of sheep to discharge here. i Last night the Papanui sailed for Wanganui, where she is to load a further quantity of frozen moat to complete her cargo. (The steamer will then come back to Wel,'lington to coal, and will sail for London on j February 16. j The movements of the Mamari, now at Wellington, are not yet fixed as to dates, but she will be loading at Lyttelton during? the latter half of the month. The Patea Shipping Company’s steamer Mana has been ashore inside the Patea bar for about a fortnight, during which the poverty of the tides prevented her being floated. She was got off on Tuesday morning, apparently little the worse. Word has been received that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Maori reached London, all, well, on Monday, having made a passage of fifty days. The s.s. Storm arrived lato last night from Wanganui and Pelorua Sound with o load of sheep, which were landed on arrival. The vessel was expected to leave early this morning for Pelorus Sound to load more sheep. She was delayed on her' way to Lyttelton laet night by a strong head wind, which also delayed ahe arrival of the Wakatu from Kaikoura. A strong southerly " buster ” sprang up suddenly at about 6 p.m. yesterday, and raised a, rough, choppy sea in the harbour, which had. been exceptionally smooth all day. The Mararoa’s departure for Wellington was delayed nearly half an hour by tha •wind. She was lying at the wharf with hex head inshore, and when she, waß being l turned the wind caught her broadside on find held her firmly against the end of the jetty. Tha vessel had to await the pleasure of the wind before she could) make a fair start. . . The Canopus finished work last evening and sailed for Westport, where she will load coal for Wellington. i TELEGRAPH NOTICE BOARD. WELLINGTON, February 10.
