United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDAsET, June 6. George Towns will leave for London next week to race 80-rry. CANTERBURY ROWING ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Canterbury Rowing Association .was held on Friday; preseut—Messrs J. R. Alonison (chairman), H. Kennedy. 0. Healey, H. Ayers. F. D. Ivesteven, F. Sutton, G. Chambers and H. H. Smith, honorary secretary. The secretary of the Otago 1 Rowing Association wrote stating that the Association would take time to consider the question of representation on the New Zealand Rowing Association. A letter from the Southland Rowing Association dealing with tho same matter was received. The New Zealand Rowing Assocmtion forwarded an incomplete list of the colours of affiliated clubs. A committee that had been appointed to go into the matter suggested that a rule should be made requiring all clubs to register their colours and that when two or more clubs claimed the same colours the senior club should have the preference. It was decided that the proposal should be referred to the Council of the New Zealand Association for -approval. It was decided,to ask the Wellington Rowing Association to join with the Canterbury Association in requesting the New Zealand Association to call a special meeting to deal with the proposed rule and the matter of representation. The secretary, Air Morrison and Air Kesteven were instructed to draw up alternative motions dealing with the rerepresentation and to ask the Auckland Association to propose the second motion, in the event of the first, proposed by Canterbury, being rejected. . It was resolved that at the special meeting of the New Zealand Association the Canterbury delegates should he requested to move that in future the championships regatta should he held not later than February in each year. An addition to rule 15 of the Canterbury Association’s rules to the effect that the length of stump oar outriggers should not exceed fifteen inches, and that the boats should be centreseated, was passed. A trophy offered by Atessrs Fletcher, Humphreys and Co was accepted by the Association, to be a challenge cup, "to he held for one year by the club winning the, greatest number of points in the various Canterbury regattas, first, second and third points to count.
