PHENOMENAL BOWLING. United Press ARRociation—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 12. Playing for Surrey against Derbyshire < Marshall took seven wickets for 41 runs. He took fivo wickets in thirteen balls without a run being scored. Marshall scored 59, and took five wicket for 32 in tho second innings. Surrey won by ten wickets. (A. Marshall is an ex-Queensland player who qualified last year for Surrey, when great interest was taken in his appearance. " Wisden " says of him :—As a batsman he was rather disappointing, but lie is sure to get on better in the future. His weakness was a lack of sufficient confidence to play his proper game. Ho is by nature a hitter, but except on raro occasions lie does not let himself go. As an allround cricketer ho gives very high promise indeed. All through the summer ho fielded splendidly, being by far the surest catch in the eleven, and in August a tardy discovery was made of his ability as a bowler. Right-hand, •medium pace, ho got on a fair amount of .spin, and .his great height mado tho flight of the ball rather difficult to follow. Ho took so many wickets in club cricket in 1906 that he ought to have been given his opportunity much earlier in the season.)
