Captain Edwin reported at 5 p.m. : " Strong south to east winds northward of Napier and '-New Plymouth, and with rain between Napier and East Cape. Strong westerly thence southwards, and falling barometer everywhere." MR PATJLIN'S FORECAST. Mr Paulin telegraphed yesterday morning as follows:—All stations are warned of heavy weather over the Tasman Sea after sixteen hours.
