A AVashington despatch dated Alarcfi 24 stated that the Cabinet bad decided to accept tlie invitation of China to have the Atlantic battleship fleet visit that country on its return from the Pacific Const. Tho invitations so far accepted include those from Fiji, New; Zealand, Australia, Japan and China. All other stops will be strictly for coaling purposes. The San Francisco Reception Committee bad adopted a programme including-—Alay 6, receptions and a ball and the opening of a club house for enlisted men, etc.; May 7, parade and reception by the Governor and Alay or, and the Governor’s banquet, informal receptions and first of the band concerts; Alay 8, review of the fleet by Air Metcalf, Secretary of the United States Navy, games in tlie Stadium, boat races and banquet to the commanding officers; Alay 9, Oakland Day; Alay 10, Yacht Club cruise and religious services ; Alay 11, automobile ride for 400 officers, observation car ride for 1000 enlisted • men, reception and ball and boat races for the Bittenberg Cup, which is a big navy event} May 12, children’s day, 35,000 children to visit the battleships; Alay 13, day of athletics at the Stadium; May 14, Berkely Day, dinner by the graduate! of the United States Navnl Academy | Alay 15, Sante Rose Day, unassigned.
