Letter mailß close for the following places as under, subject to tho necessary alterations:— Mails ger Express to Dunedin and South close daily at 7 a.m. and 11.10 a.m.; late fee (i. 0., letters bearing Id additional stamp), 11.25 a .mci also mail van up to 8 a.m. and guard's van 11.55 a.m. train. Books and newspapers, 7 a.m. arid 10.10 a.m.

For Chatham Islands, per Ripple, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.45 p.m. train. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22. For Australian States, etc. (due Melbourne February 29), and South Africa, per express, to Connect with Maheno, at 11.10 a.m.; late fee tetters, 11.25 a.m.; guard’s van, 11.55 a.m. train. Mails for Fiji, Honolulu, Canada. United States, Uuited Kingdom, etc., per Hauroto, closo at Auckland to-day, at 12.45 p.m. NOTE.—A posting-box has now been erected at the parcels post branch of the C.P..0. to Hereford Street. It will bo cleared every hour from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The letter-carriers’ delivery in Colombo Street, between Moorhouso Avenue and Post Office, Sydenham, has been increased from twice to five times daily, from Monday, Febrimry 17. S. P. STEVENS, Chief Postmaster.
