CYCLING.
LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN. A meeting of the South Canterbury Centre of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen was held in Temuka on Friday evening; present—Messrs Donald Grant (president), W. J. Moore, C. F. Collins, B. Norton, W. Spillane, W. F. Evans and J. P. Kalaugher (secretary). Mr R. L. Rule was appointed official handicapper for the Oamaru and North Otago district. The Council of the League forwarded a grant of two guineas in aid of the funds of the Centre. A letter was received from the Council in reference to unregistered meetings and th© secretary was instructed to reply that all cycle meetings in the South Canterbury district were registered and run under League rules. Five riders were reported by various societies for having failed to pay entrance fees, and the Centre decided to suspend them until they had made satisfactory arrangements with the societies interested. The Easter Monday programme of the Temuka Bicycle Club was approved. The consul, Mr C. F. Collins, reported that a number of cycle meetings in South Canterbury had been well conducted.
