ST JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of the executive of the St John Ambulance Association was held last evening; present—Mr P. Hercus (chairman), Airs W. F. Hilson, Aliases Molineaux and Sta-veley, Dr H. AI. iuglis, Dr J. R. Thomas, and Messrs T. B. Orawshaw, A. L. P. Ledger and A. S. Lindsay. The chairman stated that the attendances at the classes had been unprecedented, numbering 350 per week. The secretary reported that it was advisable, in consideration of the increasing demand on tho ambulance waggon, that tho committee should consider the purchase of a galloping ambulance. Messrs Hayward and Co. bad reported that they had received eightyone calls for tho brougham and waggon during the past quarter, as compared -with forty-seven in the previous one, and £45 19s 4d had been collected in fees, as against £24. The Association was in credit to the amount of £lO3 11s 2d, with £24 10s 6d additional in hand. Tho sum of £BB 5s had been collected as class fees, and £52 5s was duo from tho Tramway Board, Akaroa, Kaiapoi and Nukuroa classes. Under recent examinations, 41 men and 114 women had been recommended for first aid certificates, and six men had been recommended for the home nursing certificates. In sub-centres 206 passes had been reported. One label, twenty-three medallions and eleven vouchers had been secured.

Tho report was adopted. The resignations of Mrs A. J. Milsora and Dr Shone were accepted with regret. Dr Alice Moorhouse was elected a member of the executive. It was decided that the tramway employees should bo asked to appoint a representative on ih© executive. It was decided that Ambulance Saturday ” should bo held on November 2, the proceeds to' bo devoted to the purchase of a galloping ambulance and to other objects, and a collection should he made in Lyttelton ou tho previous day. solved that the equipment of kit-boxes should be increased by placing new ones at Redclitfs, Addington Workshops and Lyttelton Harbour. It was decided to apply to the Government for £ for £ subsidy on the Ambulance Saturday collections, and a committee was appointed to deal with the Ambulance Saturday arrangements.
