AMUSEMENTS.
THEATRE ROYAL. Montgomery’s Entertainers repeated their opening-night programme at the Theatre Royal last evening. There was a good attendance, and the biograph pictures met with a great deal of appreciation, the “Parsifal” series, “The Modern Milo,” and the Webb-Towns sculling match being the principal favourites. Miss Hilda Hargood and Mr Montgomery sang illustrated songs, which were well received, and Mr lan Harmon’s clever playing on various instruments earned him' an encore., Mr W. Monks’ comedy turn was also successful. This afternoon a matinee performance will be given. The pupils of the Sumner Deaf Mutes Institute, to the number of about sixty, have accepted an invitation to h© present. operXhouse. The Opera House was well filled last evening, when 1 an attractive programme was presented. The Stagpooles were successful. in their humorous sketch, “ Onr Day Out,” and Salt Bush Bill, the stockwhip expert, provided a clever and acceptable turn. The Sandow Girls received much applause for their new and picturesque turn, and Morris and Wilson’s acrobatic performance was very popular. The programme wHI be repeated this evening. WAINONI PARK. To-day’s programme at Wainoni Park will include* races, ladies’ guessing competitions, a Punch and Judy show, a naval battle and the Wainoni geyser. In the evening a display of fireworks will he made. A number of sideshows, including performing dogs and monkeys and a steam merry-go-round, will offer attractions throughout the day.
