He honestly believes that the cruise of the fleet in the Pacific avIII do the fleet good, and possibly accelerate further naval appropriations. AMERICA’S NAVAL ACTIVITY. NEW YORK, October 7. The Secretary of the Navy declares that the battleships Indiana, lowa and Massachusetts will remain in the Atlantic. Seven other battleships are being constructed there, and two of these will be completed in eighteen months. THE FLEET FOR THE PACIFIC. NEW YORK, October 7.
The cruisers Tennessee and Washington will sail for the Pacific on October 12, and sixteen battleships and six destroyers in the middle of December, calling at Trinidad, Rio de Janeiro, Punta Arenas, Callao, Magdalena Bay and San Francisco.
