DnvsJiEKNEss.—Samuel M’Donald, a statutory second offender, was fined 10s and costs, in default forty-eight hours’ imprison moat. Remanded,— Thomas Mo re den Bumham, charged with having stolen £29, the property of John Gardner, at Akaroa, was remanded to appear on July 23 at Akarca.—Edward Arthur Ryder was charged with having stolen one saw, one lawn mower, two garden forks, ono spado and one rake, valued at £2 ss, tho property of John Elmsley. He was remanded till Friday. Ai'l'Lk.'atio.v Dismissed. —Mr Hohan, on behalf of the defendant, applied for si re-hearing of tho case of Chapman v. Gill, adjudicated at Darfield. Mr Hoban stated that since judgment had been given the defendant had obtained material evidence that would, perhaps, alter the decision.. The Magistrate decided that the evidence could have been taken advantage of at the time of tho hearing of tho case, and dismissed tho application. A Stray Horst:. —Henry M’Carthy was fined os and costs for having allowed a horse to wander in Gloucester Street.
Traffic Regulation. —For having driven a horse at other than a walking pace over the crossing at the intersection of Lichfield, Manchester and High Streets, Thomas Hazard was fined 20s and costs. Ho was charged and fined a. similar amount on Monday for tho same offence, but then, owing to a mistake, he was not present, and tho case was re-heard.
