IX THE MATTER - OF A PROPOSED LOCAL BILL OR ACT. ►URSUANT to i X Standing Orders of the House _of Retires enta fives relating to Local Bills the Christchurch City Council hereby gives notice that application will be made to- the General Assembly oi New Zealand in Parliament assembled at the Session, commencing in tha month of June for leave to introduce a. Bill to bo called -The Citv of Christchurch Electric Power and Loan Empowering Amendment Act, 1907." ' The- objects of the said proposed Bill is to repeal section seven of " Tae City of Christchurch Electric Power and Loan Empowering Act, 1302," which is as follows: " Nothing in this Act contained shoCl authorise tho Council to construct, erect, build, maintain., or. work any intake, clam, reservoir, by-wash, head or tail race, power-house or turbines, or to lift water from the said river or to return water into the said river, anywhere either in the bed or on the banks or terraces of the said river to the eastward of a lino drawn from Trigonometrical Station B No. 1 on tho southern bank of the said river, to tho south-western comer of Reserve No. 34, Block X., Oxford Survey District, or within a distance of forty chains measured upstream from the Waimakariri Gorge'Bridge." A copy of tie said proposed Bill is deposited in the Magistrate's Court at Christchurch, at which place the same is open for public inspection during office hours. Dated this 31st day of May, 1807. Tho whole of the loan is to be repayable on tie 31st DAY OF OCTOBER, 1932, bear- ,- -n meantime at 4J per aum.
