WEDNESDAY.—Rotomaharia and TeAnau will arrive from Wellington and will leave on return trip. Talune will arrive from Wellington and enßt ooast ports and will leave fox Dunedin. Yesterday the s.s. Corihua arrived from Timaru, Oamaru and Dunedin at 6 a.m., the g.s. Mararoa from Wellington at 9.5 a.m., and the , s.s. Paveena from Wellington at 10.10 a.m.

It is announced that the s.s. Taiori is to load at Greymouth this -week for ‘Wellington and Lyttelton. The schooner Amelia Sims is expected to ’leave Lyttelton towards the end of this week for Kaipars,, to load timber lor Lyttelton. The Union Steamship Company’s Kotuku, now commanded by Captain. Nicholson, arrived from Greymouth at 1.55 a.m. yesterday, with a cargo of coal and timber for this port. The s.s. Oswestry Grange, from Liverpool, brought nineteen saloon and 70 Ihird-c'ass passengers for Wellington, ol for Lyttelton, smd 60 for Port Chalmers. About 122 passengers were landed at Auckland. The s.s. Surrey, from Liverpool, which arrived at Wo.lington on Sunday n ght, put in on account of a shortage of coal, and goes to Auckland before coming south. The steamer brought the following passengers:— IPox Wellington: First saloon—Mrs BannerShaa, Messrs A. R. Wilson and Zoltouski; 69 third-class. For Ly.tolton: First-class— Miss L. Graham, Messrs , S. The We.lington and southern passengers were landed at Wellington on Monday. Captain. Strang, who has been acting Marine Superintendent of the Union Stcamahip Company for some time past, has now been formally appointed to the position. The Union Steamship Company received cable advice on Saturday stating that the new steamer Komata will be ready for delivery not later than March 10 Mr Boas is staad-ng by the s.s. number of icebergs during a recent voyage from Kaipara to Glasgow. On October o forty-tines' bergs were seen, some of them being estimated to be 800 ft above water level. The "first iceberg was seen off Capo Horn in 56,36 S. and 67.13 W.. on September 28, and the last was sighted north of the Falkland Islands, in 43.16 S. and 50.53 \\ T .\ Oc ober 8. Victoria is to arrive from Dunedin this morning, and to leave for Sydney,, via east coast ports, this evening. The s.s. -Corinna left for Wellington, New Plymouth and Onclmnga at 3.40 p.m. yesterday. ~ The s.s. Cygnet left at 4.5 p.m. yesterday for Akaroa. via the Bays. The s.s. Irish Monarch left Lyttelton at 4.20 p.m. yesterday for Dunedin, where she is to discharge the remainder of her cargo from New York. She is then to go to Sydney tor orders, and to be decked.
