LAUNCH OF THE SATSUMA.
A SENSATIONAL incident. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. TOKIO, November 17. The launching at Yokohama of the Satsuma, battleship, was attended by a sensational incident. It has transpired that a number of foreigners resident in Yokohama laid, wagers of .7 to 3 to the extent of a hundred thousand pounds sterling against the launch being successful. Several Japanese workmen were arrested prior to the launch taking place, the supposition: being that they, with others, had been bribed to obstruct tire ways. A preliminary examination of the prisoners, however, did not show that the betting was connected with tho alleged plot.
