TVTOTICE is hereby given that the Board oilers TWO " GAMMACK SCHOLARSHIPS,” to be held at Canterbury College, and tenable for three years. The value of the Scholarships will bo £25 for a scholar residing at homo, and £45 for a scholar who, in the opinion of tho Board, is obliged to live away from home, owing to the distance of their parents’ or guardians’ residence. The Scholarship will be awarded on the result of the Junior Scholarship Examination, held at Christchurch by the New Zealand University, and Candidates must enter for and compete at that examination. The Scholarships will be open for competition to all candidates who, for a term of not less than two years in succession, have attended any public primary school, or schools, in the Education District of North Canterbury, and who are between the ages of 16 and 19 years on the first day of December, and who have not been matriculated. Provided that candidates who qualify lor a Junior Scholarship offered by the New Zealand University shall not bo eligible to hold a Gammack Scholarship. Candidates must 1 enter their names by giving notice, in their o.wn handwriting to the Chairman of the Board, on or before tho 16th OCTOBER. In every case tho candidate must state the day and year of birth, and the primary school, or schools, at which they have attended. The ordinary notices for examination must also be sent in to the Registrar of the Now Zealand University within the required time. The fee for examination fox Junior Scholarships is one guinea, and all candidates who are admitted to matrjculation by means of that examination are required to pay an additional fee of the same amount.
