A meeting of the Proprietary mine workers appointed a committee to report as to what steps should he taken in regard to an increase of pay, the report to be considered at a mass meeting on September SO. NEW SOUTH WALES COALMINERS. (Received September 19, 12.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 18. The conference of owners and miners continued' all day without a decision being reached. Both parties are disinclined to yield, and the outlook is leas promising than yesterday. The conference will resume to-morrow, ■ DUNEDIN PLUMBERS. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN. September IS. _ Acting on the advice of the’ President of the Arbitration Court-, the Plumbers and Gasfitters’ Union and the Master Plumbers met in conference, and agreed to,a settlement of the matters in dispute. Mr Justice Chapman, in congratulating the parties on the result, said it would always be found that when parties agreed in this, way, after discussion, the awards were more faithfully observed than when they were forced on them. THE TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES. The tramway employees’ dispute will bo taken on Monday, and will probably last several days. The Secretary of the New Zealand Workers’ Political Association has received the following communication from the Premier:—“Sir, —Referring to your letter of September 18, on tho matter of the wages being paid to the gardeners employed in connection with tho New Zealand International Exhibition, I have made inquiries on the point referred to in your letter under reply, and I understand that since your letter was written to me the wages of the gardeners have been advanced from 7a to' 8s per day.—l have the honour to be, sir, your obedient servant, J. G. Ward, Premier.”
