AQUATIC.
A meeting of the committee d th® Akaroa Boating Club was held on Priday • present—Messrs L/ceto (chairman)} Whelch, Woodill, Penlington, Wcstenra, Lewitt, Goodwin, Ditely Kiddey and Henning. It was decided to open the season on Labour Day with a procession of the fleet, followed by ladies’ races, and to hold a social m the evening. Sub-committees were appointed to carry out the arrangements. Messrs P. Lynskey and F. M Cullouglx were appointed delegates to the Canterbury Centre, and Messrs B. and It. Henning, Wostenra and Goodwin, a Shod Committee. 'The honorary secretary was, instructed to write to the secretary of the Akaroa Regatta Committee asking that a meeting should he held before the end of the month. It was resolved that entries for tho club races should dose on the Monday following the opening day, and that a special general meeting should be held on Monday to consider'the advisableness of altering rule 18. Two new members were elected.
