THE TRAMWAYS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Kindly allow me, through the columns of your widely-distributed paper, to make a suggestion to the members of the Tramway Board. I believe the Tramway Board desires to do everything it, can for the convenience of the general public,. so, therefore I put this suggestion before the public, hoping that it may find its way into the hands of members of the Board. In the daytime we are easily able to distinguish the regular stoppingplaces by means of sign-boards, but at night we cannot see those sign-boards so readily. Therefore, I would suggest that at every regular stopping-place there should be a light, similar to those on the poles in Cathedral Square. I do not think the expense would be so very great, when one considers the convenience the lights would be to the public, especially now that visitors will soon be flocking in thousands to our city. I think the suggestion I have made would prove very appreciable and helpful. Trusting that this will bo carried into effect.—l am, etc., F. L.
