ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
[From Ora Correspondent.] ROTORUA, May 15. An inquest was held to-day on th© body of Arthur Hutchison, twenty-four, who was drowned in a lagoon off the Waikato River at Waiotapu last Friday. He was out duck-shooting with a friend, shot and secured a duck, a .1 was swimming back with it in his mouth when he suddenly disappeared. _ The jury brought in a verdict of accidentally drowned. He worked at the flaxmill. It is not known whether h© has any relations in the colony. [Pub Press Association.] NAPIER, Alay 15. A fatal accident occurred at Hastings this afternoon. A sheep farmer named Richard Dclbel, jun., had driven some cattle into Hastings, and was returning home. ‘When opposite the Stortford Lodge Hotel, his horse shied, tin-owing him and killing him instantly. H© loaves a widow and young family. Yesterday afternoon a boy fell down tho well of a lift/at the Farmers’ Cooperative Association's premises. _ Ho was taken to the Hosipita!, but it is believed that his injuries are slight. The man Rosanowski, who had his foot crushed by the Sumner tram on Monday evening, is progressing as well as can be expected. It was at first thought likely that his foot would have to be amputated, but an operation has been performed, and it is now expected that tho foot will be saved.
