NAVY LEAGUE.
RIFLE SHOOTING.
The committee of the Christchurch branch of the Navy League met in the City Council Chambers yesterday afternoon; present—Dr Levinge (chairman), Mies Saunders, Mesdames Reece (president of the Ladies’ Section), Wigram, Denniston, Seoretan and Staveley, Professor Haslam, the Rev E. E. Chambers and Messrs W. D. Meares and J. Jamieson (secretary). The chairman said that the meeting bad been called to fix the date for the Annual meeting. The treasurer’s statement showed liabilities amounting' to some £ls, which were covered by unpaid subscriptions. . In connection with the balance-sheet, the chairman said that the League had so far failed to secure a refund of £ls from the King Edward Barracks authorities, to which it was in equity entitled. . The authorities had ignored communications on. the subject. It was decided that a sub-commit-tee should endeavour to arrive at an arrangement in the matter. The annual meeting was fixed for the following Monday afternoon. After discussing some further matters, the meeting closed.
