POLO.

The Christchurch and Tipapa (North Canterbury) Polo Clubs played a match on the former’s grounds at Hagley Park yesterday afternoon. The turf was in fairly good order, but the play on the whole was very ordinary. Tipapa set off in great stylo, but after a few skirmishes had taken place the game became remarkable for the number of Cass'- shots that were missed. The teams were; —Christchurch : Neavc, Cowlishaw, Gould and lies wick. Tipaph : H. Acton-Adams, Dr Fox, Fritz Fox and R. Allan. The game ended in an easy victory for the home team ' by seven goals to four. In the first spoil Christchurch scored three. The visitors showed to better advantage towards the close, but play was at no time exciting.
