ROAD BOARDS

MOUNT PEEL. A meeting of the Mount Peel Read Bc.ard was held on Deoomber 16; pre; sent—Messrs Deimisto-un, Thew and Thomson. Mr Doyle wrote agreeing to act as ranger. The Geraldine Road Board wrote asking for information in connection with light traffic bridges, where stock bridges were required. The clerk was instructed to reply. Tnc engineer of the Mackenzie County Council wrote asking for particulars ns to the rats of wages paid by the Board. It was resolved that tenders should he called for quarrying 1000 cubic . yards spalls near Trentha-m, and that arrangements should be made to re-form part of the Spur Road. The overseer reported on several works required on various leads, and the Board decided to do a portion each year. It was reported that the Fairlio gang had done a, considerable amount of shingling on the Mid Valley Road, and was now working on the Clayton-Meiklebum Road. On completion of this work the gang would go to tlie Cattle Valley Road. Accounts amounting to £230 13s were passed for payment.
