A bicycle road race took place at South-bnds-e on Monday evening l , the course being round a six-miie block, the competitors having, to pass the winning post three times. Twentyone competitors started, with the following resultI—E. 1 —E. .Hibbard (3min), time 51min laec, 1- A Carrol (3miu), 2; D. Gordon (4mm)., S. W Beamsley (Imin), 54min, took the prize for the fastest time placed, and F. M’Cormick (2min), Ssmin, the fastest time unplaced. F. Gulliver, one ox the competitors, was thrown from his machine, and received an injury to one of his less. He was conveyed to thoi Southbridge Hotel, where he was attended to.
