When the bell rang Vickery and Fregon were in front, with Sandberg in a good position, Megson last. In the straight Levey and Sandberg shot out, the former leading past the post. Messrs M. Randrup, Arnst Bros., J. WalQio, R. Rogovs, J. and R. Connell, J. Spillano, J. M’ Auliffe and R. Lewis arrived in Christchurch to take part in to-day’s New Zealand Wheel Race Meetings at Lancaster Park. Extensive preparations have been made, and the fixture should be inert successful. Considerable interest is being evinced in tho match between Randrup and Sutherland for £SO a side. Tho first event will start at 2.30 p.rn. The Belfast Cycling and Athletic Club held a road race on Thursday, December 14, from Belfast to Gardner’s Road and back, a distance of about six miles. The result was as follows:—E. The—Asliburton Cash Cycling and Athletic Club got through only about half its programme on Thursday afternoon, the being too unfavourable to attempt some of the best cycling ©vents.
