I [Pek Press Association.] AUCKLAND, December. 44. V An extraordinary general meeting or ; shareholders in the Now Zealand In- | eurance Company was held this afternoon. The" Hon Seymour Thorne : George (chairman of directors) presided. \ He moved the confirmation of a resoluition passed at the previous meeting, extending the operations of the company. .. . • This was agreed to, and the resolution was carried unanimously. Mr Gallnan said that the shareholders fully realised what had beon accomplished by the directors in their interests. Having been a shareholder in the New Zealand Accident Insurance. Company' for twenty-five years, he could assure the shareholders, in the New Zealand 'lnsurance Company that they were amalgamating with a.vigorous going concern, with.-immense future possibilities. He confidently hoped that ii was going to bo a great advantage t<r the company. The course pursued by the directors had been a wise one. He moved that- a hearty voto of ~t hanks should be accorded to the chairman and the directors for their exertions in fa- ; vour of the amalgamation of the two companies. This was cairied unanimously. • The chairman said that it was gratifying to receive such expressions of approval from the shareholders, and it showed, not only that they thought that the directors had acted rightly in this matter, but also that they possessed the fullest confidence of the eharebolderG.
