An organ recital will be given by Dr Bradshaw to-morrow evening. A sale of work and fancy fair, in aid of St Matthew’s Church, St Albans, will bo held in the Art Gallery to-mor-row and on Friday.

Preparations are being made for the public school sports, which will be held in Lancaster Park on Saturday. A “ welcome home ” social will bo given to the Rev W. S. Bean in St Mary’s Schoolroom to-morrow evening. A meeting of the Hospital Board will be held this afternoon. A special railway time-table is advertised in connection with the public school sports on Saturday. Local bodies will meet to-day to appoint delegates to the Charitable Aid and Hospital Boards and the Samaritan Home trustees.
