She pleaded guilty to the first charge and not guilty to this second. Sub-Inspector Dwyer said t£at accused w.ae one of the unfortunate whom nothing could be dome but to send them to gaol. Constables Xostel and Shanahari said that they had seen accused at all hours of the night-and morning. She generally slept in the Park. She was convicted and discharged for drunkenness and _ senfeiixsed to eighteen montiis' for vagrancy. '. Remantsed.- —William Gray, wio was alleged to have left the colony without making provision for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, was remanded till Wednesday. Bail 'was allowed in £IOO. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) Default Cases.—Judgment by default, with costs, was given in the following cases:—Strange and Co. (Mr Fiesher) v. M. Twomey, claim £1 17a 3d; H. . Pannell (Mr Smrth"son) v. E. J. Queree, £1 14s; Bosch, Barthel <and Co. v. Holden Bros, £9 cs lOd; New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association (Mr Harman) v. John Rogers, £l6 lis Id. Ovebdtte Rent.—Marv Pettigrew claimed 27s from James M. George (Mr Graliam) for three rent, at 9a per week, for a house in Waltham Road, Tlie plaintiff alleged that defendant had taken the house last year and had left- it recently, after 'receiving a week's notice, owing three weeks' rent. The defendant alleged that he had not received definite notice to quit, and before leaving Mr Petfcierew hsd agreed to write off two weekV rent- if tire defendant would allow him to store certain furniture in one of the rooms. Judgment was given for 20s and costs.
