NOTICE is hereby given that, at a Special Meeting of the Council of the County of Selwyn, held on the 31st May, 1905, ai resolution was passed making a Special Order, as follows:—In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “ The Counties Act, 1886," “ Tho Counties Act Amendment Act, 1903,” “ The Halswoll River Drainage Dis- . trict Act, 1833,” and “ The Rating Act, 1894,” the Council of the County of Selwyn hereby resolves as follows:—That, lor the purpose of paying interest and other charges in connection with the Ellesmere - Outfall Culvert, Separate Rales, as hereinafter defined, be made and levied on all the ratable properties comprised within Classes I. and 11. of tho Halswell River Drainage District, the boundaries of which are defined and described in the schedule to a notice dated 29th August, 1901, and signed by ike Chairman and Clerk of tho said Council, and published in the “ Lyttelton Times" newspaper of the 31st August, 7tb, 11th, 21st and 28th September and sth October, 1901, namely, a Separata Bate _of Three-Sevenths of a Penny in the Pound on all the ratable properties in Class 1., and a Separate Kate of One-Seventh of a Penny in the Pound on all the ratable properties in Class XI. of the said district, and that, for tho purpose of cleaning the River Halswell, and of paying interest and other charges on a loan for dredging the said river, Separate Rales, as hereinafter defined, be made and levied on all tho ratable properties comprised within Classes I. and 11. of the Halswell River Drainage District, the boundaries of which aro defined and described in the schedule to a notice dated 29th August, 1901 and signed by the Chairman and Clerk of Ilia said V Council, and published in xhe “Press” newspaper of tho 31&t August, 7th, 11th, 21st and 2Sth September and oth October, 1001, namely, a Separate Bate of Onefourth of a Penny in the Pound on all tho ratable properties in Class Ip and a Separate Rate of One-twelfth of a Penny in the Pound on all the ratable properties in Class 11. .of tho said district.
