MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
At the quarterly meeting of the Oust Oddfellows’ Lodge, Past Grands C. Webster and T. Jones were appointed delegates to attend the district meeting. A considerable amount of business was transacted. The regular meeting of the Te Tawera Juvenile Lodge, 1.0.0. F., A.C., was held on March 27, N.G. Bro Adam in the chair. There was a Ipge attendance of members, including visitors from Star of Auckland, Ridgloy, Washington, Linda, Star of Canterbury Lodges, and sisters of the Naomia Kebokah Lodge, also the Grand Master and nine members of tho Grand Lodge of New Zealand. A competition was held for prizes presented by Brother and Sister Townsend, for the best recital of tho president’s charge, which was won by Bro J. M'Cullough, with Bro Adam second, and Bro Feron third. Bros Rusbridge and Hunter acted as judges. After the Grand Master had addressed the lodge on the work of the session just, closed, refreshments and. harmony brought a very successful meeting to a close. The Reviving Stream Lodge of Good Templars, met in the Druids’ Hall, Sydenham, on Friday evening last, Bro R. Wilson, C.T., presiding. There was a large attendance. Greetings wore brought bj r a visitor from Dunedin. It was decided to assist the Band of Plopo demonstration at Easter. Bro White gave a lecture on “ Character.” .which was much enjoyed, and Bro. White received a hearty vote of thanks.
