Two thousand Chinamen in the North Randfontein mine, KrUgersdorp, struck, being dissatisfied with their wages. They refused to drill beyond a foot per day. Some police engaged in quelling the disturbance were injured. The casualties amongst the Chinamen are numerous, though not serious. Fifty-three were arrested, and others returned to the miners’ compound.
