THE COMMITTEE OF FIFTY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—-Your correspondent “No Go ” simply supplies another evidence of the illogicalness of the prohibition advocates. He sneers at the Committee of Fifty because they were a self-eonsti-. tuted body, and were not elected by the people. Then, with charming candour, he goes on to quote what the Women’s Temperance Union did to controvert the report of tho committee. I would like to ask him in return if tho Women’s Temperance Union is elected by tho people, and in what way their verdict upon any point is of more value than that of the Committee oi 1* ifty, or, for that matter, whether ho himself is elected by the people, and,' if not, of what value is his opinion, any way?—l am, etc., AQRICOLA.
