Wheat.—Ten thousand five hundred quarters' of the Australian new crop of wheat, January-February shipment, have been Hold at 32s 3d per quarter. The market" is weaker, owing to largo Russian shipments, advices as to weak' American markets, and favourable crop reports from the Argentine. Tallow.—At the auction sales, 726 casks of tallow were offered, and 610 casks sold. Mutton, fine 29s 3d per cwt, medium 26s 6d; beef, fine 27s 6d, medium 255. Copper.—On spot, £67 per, ton; three months', £66 10s per ton. Lead—£l3 Is 3d per ion. The American visible supply of wheat is 55,623,000 bushels. LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, November 23. The wool sales are animated at full openhag rates. AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, November 24. At the wool sales, greasy wool sold to 15;j>d, and scoured, to 21d. (Received November 25, 1.7 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 24. Wool—-The week's sales closed! with keen competition in all sections. Merinoee occasionally were irregular. Medium were very firm, cross-bred« of all sorts particularly so. MELBOURNE, November 24./ The avool sales are buoyant and firm all round, with prices equal to the best series. Tallow—ln sympathy with the movement in London, values at auction have advanced 5s to 10s. - Hides—The scarcity of snpplios and free buying resulted: in an advance of £d to per lb for all sections. WELLINGTON SALES. [Pee Pbbss Association.] WELLINGTON, November 24. There was a record attendance at the first of the season's wool sales, to-day. Prices, as compared with those ruling at this time last year, showed an average advance of 3d on good fleece vrools, and on inferior wools. The following prices were realised: —Half-bred , v to 10id, superior cross-bred lOd to 10£d, and lOjfd for extra, medium cross-bred 9d to 9|d, coarse cross-bred B|d to 9i-d, inferior cross-bred 8d to B>}d, pieces and bellies s£' ~a 6jd i locks 3d to 4d. . : * rpnit Pbess Association.] NAPIER, November 24. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company has received the following cable message from its London office: Stock* of Nt-w Zealand mutton are very small and held in a few hands. To-day's quotations are: —Canterbury mutton 4-|d, Napier, Wellington and North Island 4jd. The stock of lamb is practically sold out, and the new season's is not yet to hand. Beef, hindquarters 3d, forequarters 2gd. Messrs D-algety and Company, Limited, lilTa received the following cable, message from their London office, under date November 23: —Sine© our last- telegram prices of prime descriptions of tallow arc higher by 6d per owt, and otter descriptions aire bigheir by Is. In consequence of the cold weather, there is an increasing demand for Vroxen moat. There is mors demand for butter. The wool" sales continue firm with an upward tendency, and medium and coarse, cross-breds aire, "on tihe average, 10 per cent to 15 per cent 'higher than closing: rates of lisfc scries. The New Zealand Loan and' Meircamtile Agency Company, Limited, has _ received the following .cable message from its London house, under date- November 23 : —TallowMarket active. We quote "present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow :' Fine mutton 28s 6d per cwt, good beef 26s .per cwt, mixed 25s 6d' per cwt.-
